The remarks were made by Vietnamese Consul General in Perth (Australia) Pham Hai Anh at a business networking event organised by the Western Australia–Viet Nam Business Council.

At the event, Consul General Pham Hai Anh provided participants with an update on Viet Nam's recent developments, particularly its socio-economic progress and new policies designed to facilitate investment and international trade.

On the occasion, the Consul General also introduced the key provisions of the Politburo’s Resolution No.10-NQ/TW, dated June 8, 2026, on the development of the foreign-invested economic sector. He highlighted the resolution's emphasis on prioritising investment quality, efficiency, technology transfer, participation in global supply chains and value creation as the principal criteria for attracting foreign investment.

The resolution also marks a shift from attracting investment based on administrative boundaries towards an approach centred on industrial clusters, value chains and innovation ecosystems.

He also proposed that the governments and business communities of Western Australia and Viet Nam work more closely together to strengthen connectivity and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of shared strength, including high technology, research and development, critical minerals, energy transition, biotechnology, and education and training.
