The October 24 forum was jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada, Kisserup International Trade Roots, the authority of the province of Nova Scotia and the regional representative office - Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, as part of economic diplomacy activities in 2014.

Nova Scotia’s Governor Stephen McNeil, Halifax’s Mayor Mike Savage and over 100 representatives from Canadian enterprises, businesses’ associations and relevant agencies were introduced to opportunities to do business in Vietnam.

Governor McNeil, Mayor Savage and other speakers spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements and the good relations between two countries.

Holding potential in deep seaport, minerals, oil and gas, farm products and seafood, Nova Scotia wants to boost trade and investment ties with Vietnam and enroll more Vietnamese students, they noted.

On the same day, Ambassador Dung and other officials held working sessions with Mayor Savage and Halifax Port Authority.

Mayor Savage said he plans to lead a city business delegation to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam in the coming time.
