King Norodom Sihamoni has returned to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, successfully concluding his State visit to Vietnam from November 28-29, 2024, at the invitation of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Luong Cuong.
At Phnom Penh International Airport, the King was welcomed by leaders of the Senate, National Assembly, Prime Minister, Royal Family, and officials from the Royal Palace of Cambodia.
The State visit to Vietnam by the King is a significant event in the long-standing relationship between the two countries, further strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam.

During his visit to Vietnam, King Norodom Sihamoni laid a wreath and visited the mausoleum dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh; he also paid respects at the Memorial to fallen heroes.
Party General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong hosted meetings with the King. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also received the King of Cambodia.
During these meetings, the Vietnamese leaders warmly welcomed King Norodom Sihamoni to Vietnam, expressing deep affection from the Vietnamese people and sending best wishes to the Queen Mother, Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary, Prime Minister Hun Mannet, and other Cambodian leaders.
The Vietnamese leaders affirmed that the Communist Party, State, and people of Vietnam always remember the support and assistance provided by the Senate, National Assembly, Government, Army, and people of Cambodia to Vietnam during its struggle for national liberation, as well as in the current phase of national construction.
Vietnamese leaders congratulated Cambodia on the significant achievements that the country has made in its national construction and defence efforts. They expressed confidence that under the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate, National Assembly, and Government, and the Cambodian people will continue to achieve even greater success. They also affirmed that Vietnam supports Cambodia's vision and development direction in the new phase.
The King of Cambodia expressed his deep gratitude for the tremendous and invaluable support that Vietnam has provided to Cambodia during its struggle for independence, the protection of sovereignty, and its escape from the previous genocidal regime, as well as in the current cause of national construction. He affirmed the strong desire and determination of Cambodian leaders and people to continue nurturing and maintaining the relationship between the two countries.
As part of his visit, King Norodom Sihamoni visited Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature) and Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi). He also met with the Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Deputy Supreme Patriarch Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
