At an official state dinner in honour of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, at the Blue House in Seoul, RoK President Yoon Suk-yeol presented the medal to the coach of the Vietnam national men’s football team.
This is a worthy reward for coach Park Hang-seo, after his five years of working in Vietnam. He led the Vietnam national football team to gain many impressive achievements, including runners-up in the AFC U23 Championship, 4th place in the men's football at the 2018 Asian Games, AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 champions and two gold medals in men's football at the recent editions of SEA Games.
Especially, Vietnam national men’s football team got a ticket to the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup for the first time.
The success of coach Park Hang-seo has helped the image of the RoK move closer to the Vietnamese people. On the contrary, the appearance of a famous coach has also attracted Korean audiences to regularly watch the matches of U23 Vietnam and the Vietnamese national team.
As the coach of the Vietnam national men’s football team, Park Hang-seo became an ambassador connecting the winning spirit and solidarity between the two countries.
Coach Park Hang-seo will soon return to Vietnam and direct the training session of the Vietnamese team on the afternoon of December 7. Park Hang-seo will no longer coach the national football team after the AFF 2022.
