Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong made the statement at the meeting held in Hanoi on August 1 to mark the sector’s 86th founding anniversary (August 1, 1930-2016).

Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member Thuong appreciated the efforts that the sector has made over the past years.

The sector’s officers and employees should continue to uphold their fine tradition and improve their abilities to meet new requirements, he said.

The commission’s head also underscored the need to pay more attention to promptly detecting and handling corruption, wastefulness and ethical degradation; correcting harmful information on the internet, and effectively refuting incorrect information released by groups opposing the Party and State.
