The national historical site of “Long Dai II Ferry Terminal,” where 16 youth volunteers sacrificed their lives in September 1972, is now located in Truong Ninh Commune, Quang Tri Province. During the resistance war against the US, this was a fiercely contested key point, serving as a vital link connecting the northern rear with the southern battlefield.
Part of the Special National Relic system of the Truong Son–Ho Chi Minh Trail, the Long Dai Ferry Terminal site is today situated alongside the Ho Chi Minh Highway and the North–South expressway. It stands as a testament to the bravery and indomitable spirit of soldiers, youth volunteers,and frontline civilian workers during the resistance war, and has become a “red address” for remembrance activities and revolutionary tradition education for younger generations.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra and members of the delegation expressed deep gratitude for the immense sacrifices of heroic martyrs who fought and gave their lives for national liberation and reunification.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation pledged to continue striving and contributing in ways worthy of the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes and martyrs, thereby helping to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and advance the country into a new stage of development.
