Speaking at the reception, Ha Thi Nga affirmed that “Throughout the past 80 years, Viet Nam has undergone extraordinary changes. These achievements have been gained not only thanks to the efforts and determination of the people, the wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, but also through the wholehearted support and assistance of international friends, peace-loving people, and progressive citizens around the world.

In this regard, we deeply value and express gratitude for the assistance of the Communist Party of Britain and progressive people in Britain on Viet Nam’s nation-building journey, particularly during the two great wars of national resistance,” she emphasised.

Vice Chairwoman Ha Thi Nga expressed her belief that, with the affection and support of international friends, Viet Nam would take new steps forward in realising its goals and determination to build the nation towards a new era of prosperity, bringing a warm and happy life to its people.

She also conveyed her hope that, in the time to come, Viet Nam would continue to receive the support and assistance of communist parties across the globe, including the Communist Party of Britain, in sharing experiences to promote friendly cooperative relations between the two nations and the two communist parties.

For his part, Robert Griffiths expressed his delight and warmly congratulated the Vietnamese Communist Party, State, Fatherland Front, and people on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the August Revolution and National Day.
