Speaking at the ceremony, Phan Viet Hung, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thieu Nien Tien Phong va Nhi Dong (Pioneer and Children) Newspaper, said the contest was organised with the aim of helping raise awareness and responsibility among primary pupils towards the environment, thereby forming green living habits through practical actions in daily life.

According to journalist Phan Viet Hung, a new feature of this year’s contest is that it is being held in the form of online video clips. This is not only a creative playground for students but also helps them access the digital environment and gradually develop digital capacity in line with the direction of digital transformation in education.

Representing the accompanying unit, Le Thi Hoai Thuong, Corporate Affairs Director of Nestlé Viet Nam Co., Ltd., said the company always aims to accompany the comprehensive development of Vietnamese children, not only in terms of physical health but also in spirit and positive lifestyle.

“We believe that good values formed at school age will stay with children throughout their development. When children learn to care about the surrounding environment, develop a sense of responsibility towards the community, and maintain a positive lifestyle, they will become confident and responsible citizens,” Le Thi Hoai Thuong shared.

At the event, teacher Ngo Phi Khanh, Principal of Phuong Mai Primary School, also called on all pupils at the school to actively take part in the contest, expressing her hope that it would become a practical activity to help them improve their awareness of waste sorting, protect the living environment, and spread positive actions in the community.

According to the organising board, the “Green Lifestyle – Dynamic Ambassadors for Environmental Protection” contest will run from May until the end of September 2026. The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held in October 2026.

Participants are pupils currently studying at primary schools across the country. Contestants may take part individually or in groups of two to three students from the same school.

They will produce video clips lasting from 120 to 300 seconds, presenting their understanding, initiatives, or specific actions related to environmental protection, thereby spreading the message of a “green lifestyle” to the community.

The organising board is expected to present a range of awards for groups and individuals. The group awards will include first, second, third and consolation prizes, along with titles such as “Outstanding Green School”, “Creative Green School”, and “Happy Green School.”
