At a meeting with Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Thuan Huu, the Cuban journalist offered his deep condolences to Vietnam over the passing of President Tran Dai Quang.

He expressed his delight at Vietnam’s rapid and comprehensive economic development in recent years while highly appreciating the close cooperation between the two newspapers.

Granma is the central organ of the Communist Party of Cuba.

For his part, Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Thuan Huu expressed his admiration for the Cuban state and people’s successes and their efforts to protect the fruits of the revolution, emphasising that Vietnam and Cuba will remain in an intimate and faithful relationship.

At the meeting, the Nhan Dan leader informed the Cuban delegation that the newspaper currently consists of print editions, online versions in Vietnamese, English, Chinese, French and Russian and a television channel with a radio channel expected to be trialled in 2019.

He also stated that a Spanish-language online edition will soon be launched and hopes for the cooperation of Granma in developing this version.

Earlier, the Granma delegation learned about the history of Nhan Dan in the newspaper’s traditional room.
