The contest seeks to capture the unique viewpoints of a wide-ranging demographic, from expats and foreign diplomats to international journalists, tourists, and photographers of all skill levels.

Authentic and vivid moments captured through the camera lens are expected to present a fresh, distinctive and inspiring image of Da Nang.

Running from August 28 until the end of November 2026, the contest focuses on four main themes: “Da Nang – A Destination of Heritage and Nature”; “Rhythms of City Life”; “Cultural Interactions – Imprints of International Integration”; and “Da Nang – A Liveable City from New Perspectives”.

The contest is open to both Vietnamese citizens and foreign nationals of all ages, welcoming sumissions from professional potographers, jounalists, tourists, and expats.

Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee, said: “Through the contest, we hope to promote friendship, strengthen people-to-people diplomacy, and foster closer ties between the city’s authorities, residents, and international friends. At the same time, this is an opportunity for Da Nang to build a professional image database with strong artistic and communications value to support investment promotion, tourism marketing, and international cooperation.”

Outstanding entries will be exhibited and featured in a new photo book titled “Da Nang – Telling the World.” The initiative aims to introduce the city to international partners while bolstering Da Nang’s tourism, investment, and diplomatic outreach.

Through the programme, Da Nang hopes to create new avenues for international engagement, using the universal language of photography to capture authentic moments of the city’s landscapes, culture, and daily life. Ultimately, the contest will showcase a dynamic and highly distinctive image of Da Nang to the world.
