Da Nang welcomes first international visitors on first day of Tet

The Da Nang tourism sector held a ceremony on the early morning of February 10 (the first day of the Lunar New Year) to welcome first visitors to the city by air.

A Vietnam Airlines flight coded VN628 landed at Da Nang International Airport at 6:45AM, carrying passengers from Thailand to Da Nang.

The first visitors to the city were welcomed by a lion dance performance and presented with special gifts, including specialty products and vouchers for local tourist attractions.

Also, on the morning of February 10, 5-star Dream Cruise carried more than 1,800 passengers to Tien Sa Port, Da Nang. They are the first group of international tourists to travel by sea to Da Nang on the occasion of Tet.

On the first day of Tet 2024, Da Nang International Airport is expected to receive more than 125 domestic and international flights with over 17,000 passengers, including 7,500 international visitors.

The city is scheduled to welcome 894 domestic and international flights during the seven-day Tet holiday, up 16% over the same period last year.

* Phu Quoc Island also received Cruise ship Aida Bella on February 9, carrying 1,979 European tourists to the “pearl island” on the last day of the lunar year.
