Defence minister joins great national unity festival in Kon Tum

Minister of Defence General Phan Van Giang joined the great national unity festival at Dak Tieng Ko Tu Village in Dak La Commune, Dak Ha District, in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum on November 14.

Dak Tieng Ko Tu village has a total natural land area of 177.14 hectares. The village currently has 147 households, and 915 people, of which 97% are the Jo Ngao ethnic minority, the rest are Kinh people, most of the people are Catholics and their income is mainly from agricultural production.

In the joyful atmosphere of the festival, General Giang and local authorities presented gifts to residents and congratulated the village for its effective implementation of patriotic movements.

The General expressed his delight at the socio-economic and great national unity achievements made by the Party Committees, authorities and people of Dak La Commune, adding that Kon Tum Province has overcome a particularly difficult period and is striving to realise its socioeconomic development goals.

He asked the provincial Party Committee to continue thoroughly grasping the Party's policies and President Ho Chi Minh Thought, on great national unity, especially regarding ethnic minorities and mountainous areas and improving people’s material and spiritual lives.
