The Deputy PM was accompanied by the Minister of Defence, General Phan Van Giang, along with a number of representatives from ministries and branches in Ho Chi Minh City.
After hearing the report on COVID-19 prevention and control at Military Hospital 175, especially the treatment of severe patients, Deputy PM Thanh hailed the efforts made by officers, soldiers, military doctors and physicians to successfully complete their tasks.
At the hospital, through online connection with Truong Sa Island District of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Deputy PM Le Van Thanh appreciated the efforts and determination of the district’s officers and soldiers in fighting the pandemic, and emphasised their important role in performing political, military and defence tasks on the sacred archipelago.
Deputy PM Thanh highly valued the discipline, techniques and combat strength of Truong Sa officers and soldiers, especially in applying science and technology to stay connected with frontline hospitals in the mainland to ensure the health and lives of officers, soldiers and residents in the island district.

On the same day, the delegation visited and inspected the COVID-19 prevention and control at a worker’s dormitory in Binh Tan District as well as inspected warehouses, and food supply chains for the system of supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Deputy PM acknowledged that the organisation of food supply was implemented in accordance with the direction of the Government while the provision of food for the disadvantaged is being well organised by the City with abundant amounts of goods and stable prices.
