Reporting at the working session, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khang said, that in the first nine months of the year, smuggling activities, trade fraud and illegal transportation across the border continued to be restrained and prevented.
The provincial competent forces arrested and handled 2,189 cases of smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods; the value of violated goods was 18.01 billion VND, an increase of 6.16% in the number of cases and a decrease of 2.6% in value, compared to the same period in 2022.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang highly appreciated the results of socio-economic development and ensuring security and defence obtained by Quang Ninh, in the past time.
The results of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods are achieved thanks to the close coordination and cohesion between functional forces, he added.
The Deputy PM also asked Quang Ninh not to be subjective in the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and at the same time increasing the application of digital border gates to improve customs clearance capacity.
