Deputy PM visits scene of Bao Loc landslide

Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang has arrived at the scene of a landslide that occurred on July 30 in Lam Dong Province to direct the efforts dealing with the consequences of the disaster.

The landslide destroyed the Madaguoi traffic police station on the Bao Loc Pass and buried three officers and a resident.

As of the morning of July 31, three bodies had been found while one remained unaccounted for, according to reports from local authorities.

At the disaster site, Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang praised Lam Dong Province for promptly directing the relevant forces and mobilising equipment to conduct the search and rescue efforts.

He called for an increase in personnel and equipment to quickly deal with the consequences of the landslide.

Currently most of the earth and rocks at the site have been cleared but the efforts are being hampered by heavy rains.

On the same day, Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang and Lam Dong leaders visited and offered condolences to the family of a police officer killed in the landslide.
