Hanoi to organise various attractive activities for April 30–May 1 Holiday

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975–2025) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), Hanoi’s tourism sector is launching a series of promotional, cultural, and tourism stimulation programmes aimed at attracting visitors to the capital city.

In particular, Hanoi will host a variety of exhibitions and thematic displays for both locals and tourists. Highlights include unique cultural activities in the Old Quarter, an exhibition themed "The path to Reunification", and traditional water puppet performances at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site. Meanwhile, Bao Son Paradise Park will welcome guests to the Cowboy Town Festival 2025.

Public spaces, gardens, and parks across the city have been upgraded and beautified to meet the recreational and leisure needs of residents and visitors.

In the area surrounding the Hanoi Opera House, Hoan Kiem District has inaugurated the renovation of Co Tan Flower Garden, featuring a prominent new art installation titled “Resurrection.” The work was inspired by the transformation of a more than 60-year-old xa cu (nacre) tree, which was uprooted by Typhoon Yagi in 2024. This is expected to become a must-visit “check-in” spot for holidaymakers in Hanoi.

Tourist attractions’ managers across the city have proactively developed a wide range of engaging tourism products and services to meet growing demand. Examples include the experiential programme entitled “Vietnamese Spirit” at Mo Village Retreat, and a tour to discover Ba Vi’s identity, which offers hands-on activities exploring the spiritual culture of the Muong people, traditional agricultural practices, ostrich egg painting, and Dao medicinal therapy sessions.

Regarding accommodations, hotels citywide are launching various promotions such as discounts, free add-on services, and other incentives to attract guests during the April 30–May 1 holiday.

Of particular note, on April 30 and May 1, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Tourism will continue its annual initiative in collaboration with the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, offering free drinking water, milk, and bread to visitors paying tribute to the great leader.

With its vibrant lineup of events and attractions, Hanoi’s tourism sector hopes to meet the growing demand for travel, leisure, and relaxation while reaffirming the capital’s status as a “safe – friendly – high-quality – attractive” destination.
