Exhibition on tourism and culture spaces opens in Gia Lai Province

Speaking on behalf of the host province, Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of the Gia Lai provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s selection of Gia Lai to host this exhibition not only recognises the province’s role and position on Viet Nam’s tourism and cultural map, but also provides an opportunity for this land of majestic mountains and forests to affirm its appeal, integration capacity, and ability to promote its distinctive heritage values to friends at home and abroad.

Following the implementation of the Party and State’s major policy on the rearrangement and consolidation of administrative units, Gia Lai has become the country’s second-largest province by natural area, opening up a new development space underpinned by diverse cultural identities and unique tourism potential. Gia Lai is also a remarkable convergence of majestic highlands and the blue sea of the central coast, a rare combination in Viet Nam.

The exhibition provides Gia Lai with an opportunity to showcase and promote its heritage and natural resources, transforming their potential into fresh momentum for cultural, tourism and economic development. "All these heritage and natural resources are closely intertwined to create an entirely new image of Gia Lai: dynamic, modern and internationally integrated, while continuing to preserve and strongly promote its traditional cultural identity," Hanh stressed.

One of the exhibition’s major highlights is its vibrant atmosphere of cultural convergence, with 16 provinces and cities participating. Each locality brings its own distinctive colours through culture, landscapes, tourism products, traditional handicrafts, cuisine and local specialties.

The exhibition space is therefore more than simply a venue for displaying artefacts and images; it is a meeting place for different cultural regions, where stories of heritage and people are shared.

Another notable highlight is the range of spaces dedicated to introducing and showcasing cultural heritage, alongside a tourism and OCOP product fair and displays promoting traditional handicrafts and signature products such as tea and coffee, which have helped build the reputation of Gia Lai in particular and the Central Highlands and South Central region in general in international markets.

In addition, cultural and artistic exchange programmes and performances by artists and artisans from different regions are being held throughout the event, enriching the visitor experience while bringing traditional cultural values closer to contemporary life.

Running from September 5 to 8, the “Tourism and Culture Space – Integration and Outreach” exhibition promises visitors and friends from Viet Nam and abroad a diverse, colourful and memorable range of experiences.
