Actor Lien Binh Phat was honoured with the Second Best Actor Award, while Do Thi Hai Yen received the Second Best Actress Award. Production designer La Quy Tung was honoured with the Best Production Design Award.
“Ky Nam Inn” is directed by Leon Le and tells the story of two characters, Ky Nam (Do Thi Hai Yen) and Khang (Lien Binh Phat), and their social relationships in the 1980s and 1990s. The film features a gentle, philosophical story, with beautiful scenes that were meticulously and carefully designed and constructed.
Lien Binh Phat first became known through the 2018 film “Song Lang”, also directed by Leon Le. At the time, Lien Binh Phat was regarded as a new face and a new discovery by the director. The role earned him the Gemstone Award at the 2018 Tokyo international film festival, the Face of the Year award for Best Actor at the Green Star Awards, and the Best Actor award at the Golden Kite Awards.
In 2025, Lien Binh Phat took part in numerous film and television projects. His role as doctor Pham Van Ninh in the Taiwan (China) film “The Wanderer Doctor” earned him the first Golden Bell Award of his career, making him the first Vietnamese actor to win this prestigious award.
Do Thi Hai Yen is a prominent actress who has appeared in numerous art film projects, such as “The Story of Pao”, “The Endless Field” and “Vertical Summer”, among others, and particularly “The Quiet American”, directed by renowned Hollywood director Phillipp Noyce.
In 2025, Do Thi Hai Yen returned in several new projects after being absent from the big screen for 10 years, including “Ky Nam Inn” and “The Guardian Warriors”. She has also won numerous Vietnamese film awards, including the Golden Lotus and Golden Kite awards.
Production designer La Quy Tung was born in 1966 in Ho Chi Minh City. He graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts. He has worked with many renowned Vietnamese and international directors, including Phillipp Noyce, Tran Anh Hung, Ham Tran, Charlie Nguyen, Bui Thac Chuyen and Phan Dang Di. Some of the films for which he has worked on art design include “The Quiet American”, “Vertical Summer”, “Cyclo”, “Bi, Don’t Be Afraid”, and “Clash”.
