Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam made the statement while working with local leaders, the provincial health sector, and the Vietnam Social Insurance on December 10.
More attention should be paid to mobilise all resources to develop grassroots health care, preventive medicine systems, the Deputy PM noted.
Hospitals at the grassroots levels across the country should be provided with more advanced equipment and their staff should be trained so that they can develop their qualifications, he added.
He also asked the VSI to work with the Health Ministry and local heath departments to improve the quality of medical check-ups and treatment and intensify administrative procedure reform to persuade more people to purchase social insurance.
On the same day, Deputy PM Dam paid a visit to a health station in Yen Tap commune, and Cam Khe district General Hospital.
