However, the development of the digital economy of agriculture still faces many difficulties and challenges, requiring the province to develop specific solutions and tasks.

According to the Ho Trong Phuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai Province, the most obvious change in digital transformation and the digital economy of agriculture in Quang Ngai is that farmers have proactively approached digital technology and actively participated in collecting and providing open data to serve the production, processing, and consumption of agricultural products.

The digital platforms to serve the needs of farmers; agricultural digital data platforms are being promoted by management agencies to train, educate, combine propaganda, mobilise, guide cooperatives and agricultural enterprises, support farmers to develop digital skills and knowledge, effectively use digital technologies applied in agriculture, and prioritise skill groups on using and exploiting electronic trading platforms and electronic payments.

To achieve the above changes, Ho Trong Phuong said that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai Province always identifies digital transformation, digital economic development as the "key" for sustainable development of Quang Ngai's agricultural sector, with the goal of promoting digital transformation, developing the agricultural digital economy in the direction of developing high-tech agriculture, smart agriculture; agricultural governance and management based on digital technology, building a sectoral data system on land, crops, livestock; applying digital technology to automate production and business processes, manage and monitor the origin of agricultural products and product supply chains; and developing e-commerce, focusing on key products and OCOP products.

In the fisheries sector, many fishermen have applied new technology in shipbuilding and invested in machines in fisheries exploitation.

The whole province has 2,957 fishing vessels with a length of 15 metre or more installed with voyage monitoring equipment, reaching a rate of 99.43%. Notably, the initiative to receive and resolve a number of administrative procedures related to fishing vessels by calling and registering to receive the results at home has helped ship owners reduce time and travel costs, eliminating unofficial costs.

To increase the value, efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural products, improve the lives of farmers in rural areas, and contribute to sustainable poverty reduction, the province has also put 130 OCOP products on the e-commerce trading floor, and built 13 points to introduce and sell OCOP products.

Ho Trong Phuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai Province, assessed that the digital transformation work, especially the development of the province's digital economy in agriculture, has only achieved initial results, and there are still many difficulties and challenges ahead.

Therefore, it is necessary to continue researching, building and promulgating mechanisms and policies, thereby proposing appropriate orientations and solutions, mobilising the active and proactive participation of the entire political system, business community and people in developing the province's digital economy in agriculture in the coming time.

Specifically, it is necessary to focus on building a comprehensive digital agricultural data platform on crops, livestock, land, weather and agricultural product consumption markets; and replicate agricultural models to ensure close linkages from production to product consumption according to the value chain, in line with the development orientation of the agricultural sector associated with the implementation of the agricultural restructuring plan.

At the same time, it is necessary to encourage farmers to implement forms of linkage, promote the development and expansion of production areas that meet food safety and VietGAP conditions and synchronously implement processes on a large scale, creating a large volume of products that meet quality requirements, meeting market demands.

It is necessary to encourage farmers and attract individuals and businesses to invest in aquaculture at sea in the direction of modern industry, applying advanced farming techniques, adapting to climate change, selecting objects with economic value.

And it is necessary to organise training on information technology, e-commerce and digital skills for farmers, thus helping them to be proactive in applying technology to production and business.
