Director of National Defence Academy promoted to Seniour Lieutenant General rank

Member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, and Director of the National Defence Academy Tran Viet Khoa has been promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc handed over the promotion decision to the military officer during a ceremony in Hanoi on September 1.

The State leader congratulated Senior Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa, saying the promotion recognises the significant contributions made by the officer to the building and development of Vietnam’s armed forces and the cause of national construction and defence.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his belief that Senior Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa will continue promoting the glorious tradition of the Vietnam’s People Army, upholding their revolutionary virtue and loyalty to the Party, Fatherland and people, exerting every effort to serve the Fatherland and people.

On the occasion, the State President conveyed the greetings of leaders of the Party and State to the army, police and medical forces who are working day and night in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
