* Joan Mir will miss the German Grand Prix after suffering a hand injury in a crash during practice at last week's Italian Grand Prix, the Honda rider said on Tuesday (Jun 13). Former world champion Mir crashed midway through second practice and was in significant discomfort. Honda last week said his right hand was examined which revealed damage around the fifth finger.

* Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios's comeback match following a five-month injury layoff ended in defeat after he was beaten 7-5 6-3 by China's Wu Yibing in the opening round of the Stuttgart Open on Tuesday. The 28-year-old Australian underwent surgery on a knee injury in January and had not competed this season.
* A Tottenham Hotspur supporter was banned from attending football games for three years on Tuesday after making gestures mocking the Hillsborough tragedy during a Premier League match in April. Kieron Darlow, 25, made the gestures at the Liverpool v Tottenham game at Anfield on April 30, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said, where his actions were reported to the police and he was identified and arrested.
* French club SC Malesherbois have received a payment from the FIFA Clearing House worth more than their annual budget for their role in developing a player sold to a top European club, world soccer's governing body said on Tuesday. FIFA's centralised clearing house was launched in November last year with the aim of bringing "transparency and accountability" amid efforts to crack down on the multi-billion dollar global transfer market.
* The Brazilian FA (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues said on Tuesday he expects to meet with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti or his representative this week to discuss the possibility of appointing him coach of Brazil. Despite Ancelotti publicly saying he will honour the last year of his contract with Real amid interest from Brazil, Rodrigues did not rule out waiting until July 2024.
* Brazil will play a friendly match against Spain at the Bernabeu in March next year as part of an anti-racism campaign in support of Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr, the Spanish FA (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales said on Tuesday. Rubiales and his Brazilian FA (CBF) counterpart, Ednaldo Rodrigues, met in Madrid to launch their joint movement to combat racism under the slogan "One skin".
* Japan's Mana Iwabuchi will not have the chance to appear at a fourth straight Women's World Cup after the veteran forward was a surprise omission from Futoshi Ikeda's 23-player squad for the 2023 tournament announced on Tuesday. Iwabuchi was part of the teams that won the World Cup in 2011 and finished runners-up four years later. She also played in the 2019 tournament when Japan exited in the last 16.
* Eintracht Frankfurt have appointed former Bayern Munich assistant Dino Toppmoeller as their head coach following the departure of Oliver Glasner at the end of the season. The 42-year-old, whose father Klaus also coached Frankfurt in the 1993-94 season, has signed a three-year deal and will take over from July 1.
