The executive board’s vice head is Director of Information Security Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Phuc.
The decision to establish the executive board of project on training and developing human resources for information security for the 2021 - 2025 period was issued on August 10 by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Accordingly, the nine permanent members include: Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department under the Ministry of Education and Training Pham Thien Nghe; Deputy Commander of High Command 86 under the Ministry of Defence Major General Tong Viet Trung; Deputy Head of Government Cipher Committee Major General Nguyen Nam Hai; Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Information Security Association Vu Quoc Thanh; Deputy Director of Personnel and Organisation Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications Do Tri Dung; Deputy Director of the Authority of Information Technology Application under the Ministry of Information and Communications Tran Thi Quoc Hien; Director of the Vietnam Academy of Cryptography Techniques Nguyen Huu Hung; Deputy Director of Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology Dang Hoai Bac; and Head of Division 1 at the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant Colonel Thai Ba Son.
The remaining 12 members are representatives of the Department of Secondary Education under the Ministry of Education and Training; the Departments of Planning and Finance, IT, Science and Technology and Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications; Military Technical Academy, People's Security Academy; FPT University; Duy Tan University; VNPT; BKAV; and Viettel Cyber Security.
The Department of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications is the standing body of the executive board and is responsible for assisting and organising activities of the executive board and implementing general activities of the project on training and developing human resources for information security for the 2021 - 2025 period.
The Executive Board is responsible for directing, administering and coordinating the implementation of the project on training and developing human resources for information security for the 2021–2025 period in accordance with the provisions of the Prime Minister’s Decision 21, dated January 6.
Earlier, on January 6, the Prime Minister approved the project on training and developing human resources for information security for the 2021-2025 period. Accordingly, the Project aims to train and develop information security human resources to realise the vision of turning Vietnam into a powerhouse in information security, contributing to the successful implementation of the National Digital Transformation Programme, developing e-Government towards digital government, digital economy and digital society, and improving Vietnam's international reputation and ranking on information security as assessed by the International Telecommunication Union.
