Exhibition showcases Bac Ninh’s role in resistance against French colonialists

An exhibition entitled “Bac Ninh in the resistance against the French colonialists” was launched in Dien Bien Phu City, in the Northern province of Dien Bien on April 10, to mark the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

The event, which is organised by the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien and Bac Ninh provinces, aims to review the glorious history of Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh in particular, during the resistance against the French colonialists, with the highlight of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

More than 300 images, documents and artefacts are being showcased at the exhibition under three topics entitled “Bac Ninh – Land and people”, “Bac Ninh in the resistance against the French colonialists”, and “Bac Ninh rich in cultural identity with dynamism and development during the renewal period”.

The exhibition vividly and deeply reflects a panorama of the rich history, patriotism and revolutionary tradition of the land and people of Bac Ninh Province.

Several experiential activities will also be held at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, including the performance of Quan Ho (love duet) folk singing; exchanges between Bac Ninh artisans, artists and visitors; a Quan Ho costume-wearing experience, Dong Ho folk paintings making, and others.
