Opening the reception, French Ambassador to Viet Nam Olivier Brochet stressed that this year's French National Day celebration in Viet Nam provided a valuable opportunity for the two countries to share and celebrate the dynamism, transformation and vitality that have come to define France–Viet Nam relations. He expressed the hope that this spirit would be shared with all the guests, who would help generate fresh momentum for bilateral ties.

According to Ambassador Olivier Brochet, relations between the two countries have continued to strengthen across a wide range of areas. Bilateral trade has maintained strong growth, rising by nearly 8%, while a number of promising cooperation projects are being implemented in such fields as railways, energy, minerals and healthcare.

In defence cooperation, the two countries have stepped up strategic dialogue and further deepened mutual trust. Education and training, particularly higher education, also remain among the strongest pillars of bilateral cooperation.

Addressing the reception, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that the most important foundation underpinning the vitality of the Viet Nam–France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is the deep and steadily strengthening political trust between the two countries.

This has been clearly demonstrated through the frequent exchanges of high-level delegations, notably the visit to France by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam in October 2024, the visit to Viet Nam by French President Emmanuel Macron in May 2025, the visit to France by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in June 2025, as well as numerous exchanges among ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed confidence that the robust development of Viet Nam–France bilateral relations is taking place at a time when France continues to consolidate its international standing and role, while Viet Nam is entering a new era of development.

Looking ahead, she said, the Viet Nam–France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to be built not only on mutual appreciation of each other's cultural and historical values, but also on the shared aspirations of the two peoples for peace and sustainable development.

This convergence of strategic thinking and shared vision provides the foundation for both countries to further deepen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner, serving each country's development objectives and interests while contributing to peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region and around the world.
