For international visitors, passport information and nationality must be provided. In cases where visitors are children or individuals who do not yet meet the conditions for having identification documents, information about their guardian or guarantor must be supplied, including full name, identification card/passport number, and contact phone number for verification.

All supporting identification documents must be presented to the ticketing staff and inspection officers of the Ha Long Bay–Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board at Ha Long International Passenger Port and Tuan Chau International Passenger Port. This information will only be used for managing tourism activities on Ha Long Bay in accordance with current regulations, ensuring data security, safety, and the privacy rights of visitors. At present, tourists visiting Ha Long Bay are only required to provide their name, age, gender, and nationality.

The Ha Long Bay–Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board stated that it has requested units to disseminate information and notify relevant enterprises and partners, as well as strengthen communication through mass media. The implementation period begins on December 10, 2025, and is expected to be completed by January 1, 2026, including full data collection and the application of information technology in ticketing activities.

The requirement to provide complete identification information for verifying personal details of visitors to Ha Long Bay aims to enhance the effectiveness of state management of tourism activities on the bay, ensure visitor safety and security, and gradually build a synchronised database to support the comprehensive digital transformation of activities conducted by the Ha Long Bay–Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board.
