At the meeting, Do Minh Hung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to the UK, spoke highly of Saigontourist Group's capabilities and experience in promoting Viet Nam's image internationally.

The ambassador pledged continued support and cooperation with major enterprises such as Saigontourist Group in their efforts to attract two-way tourist flows between Viet Nam and the UK in particular, and Europe more broadly, while promoting the tourism brands of Viet Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, and Saigontourist Group in this key market.

Speaking at the meeting, Cao Van Chong, General Director of Saigontourist Group, said that each participation in an international tourism fair presented an opportunity not only to promote the group's brand but also to meet directly with travel agencies, tourism businesses, tour operators, and partners. These connections play a practical role in expanding markets, developing tourism products, and enhancing the competitiveness of Viet Nam's tourism industry.

Referring to the UK market, as well as Europe more broadly, the General Director of Saigontourist Group described the region as a market with considerable potential and strategic importance for Viet Nam's tourism industry.

European travellers have diverse interests and demand a wide range of experiences, with particular attention to culture, heritage, cuisine, nature, leisure holidays, and in-depth discovery tours. These are also areas in which Ho Chi Minh City and many destinations across Viet Nam have considerable strengths, offering opportunities to develop diverse and attractive travel itineraries.

Beyond attracting British visitors to Viet Nam, Saigontourist Group also hopes to help encourage more Vietnamese people to visit the UK and explore the country's distinctive historical, cultural, educational, and artistic heritage, as well as its notable destinations and those of other European countries.

As part of WTM London 2026, Saigontourist Group is participating in the exhibition in partnership with Viet Nam Airlines, demonstrating efforts to strengthen cooperation between the tourism and aviation sectors in international market promotion. Both organisations aim to showcase Viet Nam as an attractive destination with a rich cultural identity and the capacity to provide high-quality tourism products and services.
