On May 22, at Dong Da District Cultural Park, Ha Noi City, the Ha Noi Department of Agriculture and Environment and the city’s New Rural Development Coordination Office, in coordination with the People's Committee of Dong Da District, organised a fair to provide consultation, introduction, and promotion of products: OCOP, traditional craft villages, and safe agricultural and food products for 2025.

This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025) and major national holidays in 2025.

According to the Ha Noi New Rural Development Coordination Office, from 2019 until now, Ha Noi has evaluated and rated 3,317 OCOP products (accounting for 21.3% of the national total), including 6 five-star products, 22 potential five-star products, 1,571 four-star products, and 1,718 three-star products. Ha Noi is also the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products.

This fair aims to help OCOP entities from Ha Noi and provinces and cities across the country interact, connect trade, promote brands, and promote commerce; in addition, it seeks to share lessons and experiences, continuously improve productivity and product quality, and enhance the capacity of OCOP entities, especially to help consumers better understand the products and show interest in using them.

According to Deputy Chief of the Ha Noi New Rural Development Coordination Office, Ngo Van Ngon, the city has vast agricultural development space, ranks first in the country in terms of agricultural product scale, and has over 197,000 hectares of agricultural production land, among the top localities nationwide. Ha Noi currently has 1,336 operating agricultural cooperatives, 1,574 farms, 172 product consumption linkage chains, over 164 high-tech application models, and more than 14,000 agro-forestry-aquatic products granted traceability codes (QR Code).

In addition, Ha Noi currently has more than 1,350 craft villages, accounting for 40% of the country's craft villages. Especially in 2025, Ha Noi had two villages, including Van Phuc Silk Weaving in Ha Dong and Bat Trang Ceramics, recognised by the World Crafts Council as official members of the World Craft Creative Cities. These are the first two Vietnamese craft villages to receive recognition from the World Crafts Council.

Pham Thi Dong, Director of Tinh Hoa Lang Huong Viet Co., Ltd., said, “We brought incense products to the fair, and I see this as an opportunity for our establishment to promote the essence of our products to customers far and wide. Currently, our facility has about 20 workers of various ages who take advantage of their free time after farming to produce and increase their income. Our facility has participated in many fairs in the city and neighbouring provinces, and we have received a lot of support from functional agencies in production, product design, and promotion.”

According to her, for OCOP products to be widely accepted by domestic and international consumers, each entity needs to diversify product models and designs; most importantly, apply science and technology and digital transformation to reduce production costs, improve quality, and seek markets. Only then can OCOP products get closer to consumers.

This fair was held over five days, from May 21, 2025, to May 25, 2025, with 50 booths and more than 500 OCOP products representing regional specialities from Ha Noi and 20 provinces and cities nationwide. Ha Noi alone had 20 booths featuring more than 100 OCOP products.
