Ha Tinh’s economic scale increases 15 times compared to 2004

The economic size of Ha Tinh province has expanded by 15 times compared to 2004, becoming one of the three provinces with the most developed economic scale in the North Central region.

The information was announced by the Standing Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Linh at a conference held on July 12 to review socio-economic development and defence in the North Central and Central Coastal regions.

According to the official, Ha Tinh’s economic scale currently reached 90 trillion VND (3.84 billion USD), an increase of 15 times compared to 2004, named the leading group (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh) in the North Central region.

The economic growth rate was posted at over 10% per year during the 2005-2020 period while income per capita was nearly 36 million VND (1,539 USD).

The province also saw positive restructuring in economic structure with industry-construction accounting for 44%, service accounting for 41% and agriculture accounting for 16%.

In particular, the province’s export turnover reached 2 billion USD in 2021, 52 times higher than in 2004, while import turnover reached 3 billion USD in 2021, 123 times higher than in 2004.

The province also ranks ninth in FDI attraction with over 70 FDI projects worth a total of 12 billion USD.
