The event aims to recognise and express gratitude to the significant contribution of the business community to the city’s development.
In his speech at the event, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, stated that while the total production value of the city's non-state economy was only 8.6 billion VND in 1985, it surged to 15,402 billion VND in 1995, marking an increase of nearly 1,800 times within just ten years.
To date, the city’s business community has contributed over 50% of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), 67% of the total social investment capital, and 25% of total import-export turnover. Many enterprises have established themselves as reputable and familiar brands among consumers. Several businesses are also gradually affirming their presence on the international stage, bringing “made by Vietnam” products to global markets.
He recognised and sincerely appreciated the tireless efforts of the business community over the years, while expressing his hope that enterprises will continue to accompany the city in its development journey.
He further affirmed that the city’s leaders remain committed to upholding the spirit of the Prime Minister’s directive: “Private enterprises are the most important driver of economic growth”; and that “the people and businesses must be placed at the centre, as the subjects to be served. Enterprises are both the resource and the driving force for development.”
On the same day, the city also held a dialogue between the city’s leaders and 50 outstanding enterprises and organisations under the theme of “Journey of Creation - Reaching New Heights.”

The dialogue featured a dynamic exchange of views among delegates and guests on the role of businesses in creating social value, from boosting production and trade to driving innovation and technological application.
It also highlighted the aspirations and dreams of enterprises for a future city which fosters a strategic partnership between the government and businesses, ready to lead transformation and reach international prominence.
