Early voting will be held in four polling areas across Phuoc Thang Ward, Tam Thang Ward, and Long Son Commune, ensuring electoral rights for those working at sea and on offshore platforms.
Among these, the polling area in Tam Thang Ward has the largest number of voters, with 2,800 registered for early voting.
Le Xuan Tu, Chairman of the People’s Committee and Chairman of the Election Committee of Tam Thang Ward, explained that most voters in the area are employed on oil and gas projects. To accommodate their work schedules, voting hours have been arranged to minimise disruption to production lines and specialist duties.
The early voting period runs from February 26 to March 14, with a polling station located at Vung Tau Airport. For voters absent from the locality during this period and working on offshore oil rigs, the ward will coordinate with Vietsovpetro and the Southern Helicopter Company to organise flights to the rigs, enabling them to exercise their civic rights.
Tu emphasised that the locality aims to complete early voting by early March, allowing full focus on the general election day scheduled for March 15.
Preparations are also being accelerated in Phuoc Thang Ward and Long Son Commune, carried out with urgency, responsibility, and in a democratic and objective manner. Local authorities have actively promoted communication through various channels to ensure that residents are well-informed and participate in voting as planned.
With thorough and comprehensive preparations, and the highest sense of responsibility from the entire political system, Ho Chi Minh City is moving towards a successful election. Each ballot cast not only represents the people’s right to self-determination but also conveys their trust and expectations for the new term of the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels.
