Honouring Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisans 2025

On the afternoon of December 23, in Ho Chi Minh City, 28 members of the Viet Nam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) were officially conferred the prestigious title of “Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisan”, affirming their mission to keep the flame of the “Vietnamese kitchen hearth” alive.

The event received sustained support from Masan Consumer Corporation and Vietravel Group. These partners not only provided organisational resources but have also contributed to linking cuisine with modern consumption and tourism while promoting Vietnamese cuisine to the region and the world.

Specifically, 28 outstanding members from various regions were officially honoured, including 15 Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisans, 6 Viet Nam Culinary Culture Master Artisans, 1 Meritorious Artisan, 5 National Culinary Artisans, and 1 posthumously awarded National Culinary Artisan.

Female artisan Phan Ton Gia Hien was recognised as a Meritorious Artisan. The five individuals who were awarded the title of “National Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisan” are Ho Dac Thieu Anh, Mai Thi Tra, Ly Sanh, Ton Nu Thi Ha, and Hoang Thi Nhu Huy. On the occasion, the organising committee also posthumously conferred the title of “National Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisan” on the late artisan Trieu Thi Choi in recognition of her contributions to the nation’s cuisine.

According to Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Viet Nam Culinary Culture Association and Head of the Artisan Council, this is a highly meaningful event that recognises the significant contributions of individuals in preserving, promoting, and elevating the essence of national culinary culture.

The project “Conferring the title of Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisan” has been implemented in a systematic manner, from project development, issuance of regulations, and receipt and guidance on completing dossiers, to appraisal, scoring, and multi-round evaluations conducted in an objective, scientific and transparent manner. As a result, 28 outstanding individual members from many localities nationwide successfully passed the stringent selection process and were officially conferred the title of Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisan.

The title is not only a recognition of the artisans’ craftsmanship, knowledge, experience, and dedication, but also affirms the role of cuisine as a living cultural heritage, closely associated with history, identity, and community life across regions nationwide. The newly honoured Viet Nam Culinary Culture Artisans are exemplary figures who have made outstanding contributions while helping to promote and elevate Viet Nam’s culinary cultural heritage.
