Hung Yen’s economy grows 8% in first nine months of 2024

The economy of Hung Yen Province grew by an estimated 8.07% in the first nine months of 2024, according to the provincial statistics office.

Specifically, agriculture increased by 1.71%, industry and construction rose 10.93%, commerce and services expanded by 2.59%, and product taxes minus subsidies increased by 10.72%.

Notably, many industrial enterprises maintained strong growth, with precast metal products up 23%, electronics and computers up 37%, motor vehicles up 15%, pharmaceuticals up 20%, and furniture up 25%.

Construction continued to record decent growth, primarily from the two urban areas of Vinhomes Ocean Park Hung Yen and Ecopark Van Giang. Acceleration in construction activities of civil engineering works financed by public investment also contributed to growth in the construction sector.

Budget revenue in the first nine months of 2024 was estimated at over 30 trillion VND (1.2 billion USD), up 26.78% year on year and equivalent to 93.16% of the full-year target.

Domestic revenue was estimated at 27 trillion VND, up 27%, while revenue from export and import activities was 3.28 trillion VND, up 25%.
