Images of the country of Viet Nam once again appear on the Thomson Reuters screen at Times Square, New York (United States).

A promotional film introducing Viet Nam, produced by Viet Nam Airlines, was screened here, helping spread the message of a dynamic destination rich in identity and attractive to international visitors.

Times Square is one of the busiest intersections in the world, with an average of more than 330,000 people passing through each day. The Thomson Reuters building is one of the focal points of the square, with an LED screen system covering more than 700 square meters surrounding the building, strongly attracting the attention of anyone passing the intersection.

This marks the second time Viet Nam Airlines has brought images of Viet Nam to appear at the world’s iconic media center. This return carries special significance as Viet Nam enters a new stage of development with the goal of deeper integration into the global economy, in which the aviation sector plays a role as a direct bridge between the nation and the international community.

For Viet Nam Airlines, promoting the image of the country has been a persistent journey over many decades. Through its international flight network, communication campaigns, tourism and cultural cooperation, and external affairs activities, the Airline has helped bring Viet Nam closer to the world, while also bringing the world to Viet Nam, thereby promoting trade, tourism, and enhancing Viet Nam’s presence in the flow of globalization.

Viet Nam Airlines not only performs the task of transportation but also serves as a “cultural ambassador,” spreading the story of Viet Nam to global audiences through its extensive flight network and brand prestige.

The event coincided with the working visit to the United States by a high-level Vietnamese delegation led by General Secretary To Lam, further adding meaning to efforts to connect and promote the national image as Viet Nam - United States relations continue to deepen and expand.

Alongside activities promoting the national image, Vietnam Airlines continues to expand its international connectivity capacity through fleet modernization. Recently, the Airline signed a contract to purchase 50 Boeing 737-8 narrow-body aircraft in Washington, D.C., and worked with Boeing on a plan to invest in 30 wide-body aircraft in the coming period to serve its long-term international network development strategy.

From pioneering flights opening routes to the world to its presence in globally symbolic media spaces, Viet Nam Airlines continues to affirm the role of the national flag carrier not only in connecting destinations, but also in connecting image, trust, and opportunities for cooperation between Viet Nam and the international community.
