In Pictures: “Ha Noi Lotus Festival” honours flower associated with Viet Nam for thousands of years

The opening ceremony of the 2026 Lotus Festival officially took place on the evening of June 26 at Ly Tu Trong Flower Garden, featuring a series of remarkable artistic performances.

The festival is a testament to the capital city’s efforts to elevate heritage values and transform cultural and historical resources into a driving force for sustainable tourism.

The festival is organised by the Ha Noi Department of Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Tay Ho Ward under the theme “The Beauty of Ha Noi Lotus”, taking place around West Lake and at cultural venues throughout the ward. It is a large-scale cultural and tourism event honouring the value of the lotus in the lives of the Vietnamese people.
The festival is organised by the Ha Noi Department of Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Tay Ho Ward under the theme “The Beauty of Ha Noi Lotus”, taking place around West Lake and at cultural venues throughout the ward. It is a large-scale cultural and tourism event honouring the value of the lotus in the lives of the Vietnamese people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Ha Noi Municipal Department of Tourism affirms the city is focusing on making Ha Noi a safe, attractive and professional tourism destination. This event is not only an opportunity to promote the image of the capital, Ha Noi, to domestic and international friends, but also affirms the city's determination to develop distinctive cultural and historical tourism products unique to the capital.
