The festival features a series of activities, including exhibition spaces showcasing the lotus value chain and OCOP products, a display of around 100 domestic and international lotus varieties, a lotus-themed food street, and artistic hot-air balloon performances.
In addition, a range of daily highlight events will be organised, including specialised seminars on lotus-related topics, supply-and-demand connectivity conferences, a lotus-themed Ao Dai parade expected to attract around 1,500 women, cooking competitions, trekking activities, and a floating lantern night.
The cultural, tourism and culinary activities will create a vibrant festival atmosphere while highlighting the distinctive identity of the land of pink lotus.
One of the festival’s most notable highlights is an artistic portrait recreating a historical scene themed: “Nguyen Tat Thanh and His Father Nguyen Sinh Sac – Before Dawn (1911)”.
Created exclusively for the third Dong Thap Lotus Festival 2026, the artwork by artist Mai Van Nhon is a unique artistic project that was awarded the Viet Nam Record at the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Pham Thien Ngai said: “This year’s Lotus Festival takes place at a time when Dong Thap is entering a new stage of development. The lotus flower, together with other local products, will continue to flourish on the foundation of values cultivated by many generations.
The province now has greater opportunities to tap its potential and advantages, build a faster and more sustainable path of development, and improve the quality of life for its people.
The province sees this not only as a cultural and tourism event but also as an opportunity to promote its image, introduce its potential, attract investment and create fresh momentum for local development, Chairman Pham Thien Ngai emphasised.
The festival runs from June 18 to 21 at Van Mieu Park, Van Mieu Square and along several streets in Cao Lanh Ward.
