General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping arrived in Hanoi on April 14 noon, beginning his two-day state visit to Vietnam on April 14 and 15 at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong.

President Luong Cuong went to Noi Bai International Airport to receive the top Chinese leader and the high-ranking Chinese delegation.

The top Chinese leader was also welcomed by Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat; Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Central Committee Office; Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee; Nguyen Minh Vu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Pham Thanh Binh, Ambassador of Vietnam to China.

This is Xi Jinping's fourth visit to Vietnam since he assumed the responsibility of Party General Secretary and President of China, and also his second visit to Vietnam in the 13th-term National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 20th-term National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The visit takes place less than a year after the successful state visit to China by General Secretary To Lam. The visit is even more meaningful as it is conducted during the Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries (1950-2025).
