On November 18, the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee and the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, in cooperation with Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise and India Innovation Company, organised the international conference in Ninh Binh Province titled “Ninh Binh - a strategic destination for tourism, cinema and high-end weddings”.

Participants at the conference engaged in dialogue, shared experiences and introduced models for developing sustainable tourism strategies among countries.

Speaking at the event, Tran Song Tung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee, emphasised that Ninh Binh has been affirming its position as one of the most outstanding destinations in Viet Nam and the region, with magnificent landscapes, unique cultural relics, and increasingly professional tourism services. Ninh Binh tourism has been continuously honoured by prestigious international organisations.

The conference plays an important role in concretising the province’s policy of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector linked with the cultural industries and international integration, while also serving as a diplomatic activity aimed at strengthening cultural and tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and India.

It can be said that this is a forum for exchanging policies, ideas, and international experience in destination promotion for directors and film producers at home and abroad, while clarifying the potential and advantages of Ninh Binh in developing tourism associated with cinema and the high-end wedding market.

This activity also contributes to enhancing the value of Ninh Binh’s heritage, enriching visitor experiences, and creating a driving force for local socio-cultural development.

The international conference “Ninh Binh — a strategic destination for tourism, cinema and high-end weddings” focused on discussions and analysis of Ninh Binh’s potential and advantages in developing tourism linked with its distinctive landscapes, heritage, culture, and natural environment — foundational elements for forming cinematic tourism, wedding tourism, and premium tourism products that connect Indian and Vietnamese enterprises.

The conference also exchanged international and domestic experience in developing the “cinematic tourism” model; outlined orientations to connect experiential tourism, creative cinema, and the high-end wedding industry; and introduced premium tourism products and services (resorts, wedding photography and videography, artistic events, eco-resorts, destination wedding services, etc.).

Film directors and producers from India expressed confidence that, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and various partners and localities, many Indian films could be produced in Viet Nam, with similar success to the film “Love in Vietnam”.

Filmmakers also praised Ninh Binh’s natural scenery, affordable costs, and local support, noting that these factors will facilitate film projects in the province.

At the conference, Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that Viet Nam possesses beautiful natural landscapes — mountains, forests, seas, and plains — together with historical, cultural, and human values. When Vietnamese settings are combined with global cinematic excellence, including the Indian film industry, many films can be created, contributing not only to cultural promotion but also to boosting tourism development.

In the near future, many film producers from the US, India, and other countries will come to Viet Nam, including Ninh Binh, to produce engaging films, thereby attracting potential international markets and helping increase the number of international visitors to Viet Nam.

Within the framework of the conference, several activities took place: the 4th Namaste Viet Nam Festival; the Grand Opening programme; and a Viet Nam–India art performance programme.
