During the reception for the Japanese guests, Quang Nam Party Secretary Phan Viet Cuong informed them of the outcomes of Quang Nam’s cooperation with Japanese prefectures and cities.

He expressed his hope that the Japanese Crown Prince and Crown Princess will continue promoting cooperation and friendship between the two countries and between Quang Nam Province and Japanese localities in particular.

For his part, Crown Prince Akishino stated that this Vietnam visit is his first official visit to a foreign country after the COVID-19 pandemic and the first visit to Vietnam by members of the Japanese imperial family since the visit by the Emperor and Empress in 2017.

He said he was glad to return to Vietnam on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, noting that this is the first time he has visited Hoi An and found it very interesting.

In Hoi An, the Japanese Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited a model of the Japanese red-seal ship and the Japanese Covered Bridge, symbols of Vietnam-Japan relations from four hundred years ago.
