Lao State decorations presented to collectives and individuals in Son La Province

A delegation from Bokeo Province of Laos led by PenkhanButcha Pheng, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, paid a courtesy call to leaders of Son La Province and presented decorations of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to collectives and individuals in the province.

Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, and head of the province’s National Assembly delegation, warmly welcomed the Bokeo delegation to the province and expressed appreciation for the presentation of Lao state decorations to Son La collectives and individuals.

Leaders of Son La and Bokeo briefed each other on their respective situations and outstanding achievements in politics, socio-economic development, national defence andsecurity, and social order and safety.

The close and trusted coordination and mutual support between Son La and Bokeo have contributed significantly to ensuring national defence and security and maintaining social order and safety in border areas. Cooperation has also expanded in such fields as economics, education and training, healthcare, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, delivering tangible benefits to the peoples of the two provinces.

Leaders of the two provinces expressed their desire to further promote comprehensive cooperation in accordance with the memoranda and cooperation agreements for the 2026-2029 period. Through these efforts, they aim to further deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and between Son La and Bokeo in particular, in an increasingly substantive and effective manner.

On behalf of the delegation, Penkhan Butcha Pheng thanked Son La’s leaders for their warm and respectful reception, congratulated the province on its achievements across various fields, and highly appreciated Son La’s support and assistance to Bokeo over the years.

Authorised by the Party and State leaders of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Penkhan Butcha Pheng presented prestigious Lao state decorations to collectives and individuals of Son La Province in recognition of their contributions to consolidating and strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two localities.

Accordingly, the third-class Order of Freedom waspresented to Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Trang Thi Xuan, former member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and former Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and Le Hong Minh, former Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People’s Committee.

Additionally, third-class Labour Orders were presented to six collectives: the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee; the Department of Foreign Affairs; the Department of Agriculture and Environment; the Department of Health; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and the Department of Education and Training.

Meanwhile, a third-class Friendship Order was presented to Nguyen Duc Long, Rector of Son La College.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, expressed sincere gratitude for the affection, attention, and recognition extended by the Party, State and people of Laos to the Party organisation, authorities, and people of all ethnic groups in Son La Province.

He affirmed that the prestigious decorations bestowed by the Lao State represent a great honour and a significant source of encouragement for the Party organisation, authorities, and people of all ethnic groups in Son La. They also provide fresh motivation for the province to continue nurturing, preserving, and developing its friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Lao localities in an increasingly close, effective, and sustainable manner.

Lo Minh Hung stressed that Son La Province would continue working with Lao localities to nurture the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, making the relationship increasingly profound and substantive whileelevating it to new heights.
