On March 15, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Liaison Committee of the Central Highlands Front - Army Corps 3 held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2024), the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Army Corps 3 (March 26, 1975 - 2025) and the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the Central Highlands Front (May 1, 1964 - 2025).
The event saw the presence of Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, military generals of all periods, leaders and commanders of military units, authorities, departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City, and relatives of the generations of cadres and soldiers of the Central Highlands Front - Army Corps 3 in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region.
Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Duc Hai, former Commander of Army Corps 3 and former Director of the Institute of Strategy of the Ministry of National Defence, emphasised that 50 years ago, the Central Highlands campaign was gradually moving towards complete victory. The victory of Buon Ma Thuot created an important historical turning point for the great victory in the spring of 1975.
Over the past 50 years, generations of cadres, soldiers and veterans of Army Corps 3 have always promoted the tradition of determination to win, creativity, solidarity and seriousness. The meeting is an opportunity for generations of veterans to review the heroic tradition, demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and gratitude.
