The project is the result of the collaboration of four architects ─ Meinhard Von Gerkan, Nikolaus Goetze, Dirk Heller and Joern Ortmann ─ from the International GmbH company.

According to the jury, the design was recognised for the foreign architects’ talent, meeting the functional requirements of the project, and ensuring the working environment inside the building.

They also successfully implemented advanced technological solutions and created a balance between the project and its surroundings, which includes many of Hanoi’s iconic buildings including the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Bac Son War Martyrs Memorial, and the Thang Long Royal Citadel.

In addition to the Grand Prize, the VAA also announced winners in the categories of housing, public architecture, interior and exterior design, urban design, and urban planning.

The winners will be honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled at the Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace on April 18.

The National Architecture Awards, marking its 20th anniversary in 2014, aim to acknowledge positive contributions of Vietnamese and foreign architects in developing the country’s architecture.
