The event was organised to concretise the guidelines of the Party, the State, and Ho Chi Minh City on digital transformation, particularly in raising public awareness and fostering digital engagement among citizens.
The movement seeks to inspire a spirit of self-learning, practice, and application of digital skills across society, thereby enhancing the role of citizens as active participants in the city’s comprehensive digital transformation process.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, stressed that for the movement to be truly effective, all levels of administration, sectors, and socio-political organisations must strengthen their sense of responsibility, especially among leaders, in directing and implementing the initiative.
“The movement’s content and format must be accessible, easy to understand, practical, and closely aligned with the real needs of the people,” Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasised.
During this phase of the “Digital Literacy for All” Movement, Ho Chi Minh City will focus on guiding citizens to use essential digital platforms and services, including the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen Application, as well as other key tools such as VNeID, VSSID, and e-wallets.
The city also aims to expand effective community-based models such as “Digital Families”, “Digital Ambassadors”, “Digital Markets”, and “One Citizen – One Digital Identity”, along with the innovative “Morning Coffee – Dialogue with Citizens to Share and Update Digital Skills” model.
Educational resources will be developed with a practical approach, alongside the rollout of online AI literacy training designed to be simple, accessible, and focused on applying artificial intelligence in everyday life, work, learning, and public services.
