Reporting to the monitoring delegation, the leaders of Lao Cai Province stated that the province has completed the first consultative conference, with all contents implemented seriously, according to procedures, completed on schedule, and with a unified structure and composition. This ensures a harmonious balance in the proportion of women, ethnic minorities, non-Party members, young people, and re-elected delegates.

The province has completed the designation of electoral units and the establishment of Election Committees and Polling Stations as prescribed; the process of receiving candidacy applications was conducted openly and smoothly. Political security and social order were implemented synchronously and proactively, preventing any hotspots related to the election.

Accordingly, 10 National Assembly representatives, 61 provincial People’s Council representatives, and 2,106 commune-level People’s Council representatives were elected. To date, there have been no complaints or denunciations.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan acknowledged and highly appreciated Lao Cai’s proactive and serious approach in preparing for the election, especially given its large geographical area, border location, and the recent restructuring of its two-tier administrative system.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the province to promptly develop election maps for all 99 communes and wards to proactively carry out the tasks as prescribed. Lao Cai should continue to carefully review all stages and procedures of the election.

Emphasis should be placed on communications work to ensure that the people understand their rights, obligations, and responsibilities as voters, maintaining good security and order, promptly resolving emerging requests and feedback, and contributing to the successful organisation of a democratic, lawful, safe, economical election that is truly a festival for the entire nation. Furthermore, the application of information technology and digital transformation in election work should be strengthened.
