Luu hailed the HCMCYU and the National Committee for Vietnamese Youth for partnering with the Japanese government and ASEAN’s members states to implement the programme over the past twenty years.
He asked each member of the delegation to fulfill his mission as an ambassador of friendship, adding that the programme afforded Vietnamese youths a chance to exchange with friends in the region and to popularise the image of Vietnam and its people.
The 29-strong Vietnamese delegation is participating in the programme in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and Indonesia from October 24 to December 15.
The annual event aims to foster solidarity, friendship and cooperation among young people from ASEAN’s member states and Japan and is also one of the most important foreign-relations activities for the Vietnamese youth.
