National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man solemnly offered incense in commemoration of President Ton Duc Thang — an exemplary leader, a steadfast communist, a shining model of revolutionary ethics, an outstanding son of An Giang, one of the first soldiers in the Vietnamese workers’ and proletarian revolutionary movements, who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the nation.
In the visitors’ book, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wrote: “Generations of National Assembly deputies vow to carry forward the achievements of their predecessors, remain steadfast in their faith in the Party, stay united, innovative, and dedicated to building a strong and modern National Assembly worthy of the trust and expectations of voters and people nationwide, contributing to the country’s steady progress into a new, prosperous and happy era.”
According to local historical records, over his 92 years of life, with nearly 70 consecutive years of revolutionary activities, 27 years as President of the Lien Viet Front and President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and more than 10 years as State President, President Ton Duc Thang devoted his entire life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the people, and international friends.
On August 19, 1958, on the occasion of President Ton Duc Thang’s 70th birthday, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the President of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam awarded him the Gold Star Order. During the ceremony, President Ho Chi Minh personally extended his congratulations to President Ton Duc Thang.
President Ton Duc Thang’s life was that of a true communist who pursued and remained faithful to his ideals — the ideals of national independence and the happiness of the people.
The memorial site dedicated to President Ton Duc Thang covers an area of about 3,102 square metres. It includes an exhibition hall displaying more than 100 valuable photographs, documents, and artefacts related to the life and revolutionary career of President Ton Duc Thang.
In 1984, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) recognised the site as a historical relic. In 2012, the Prime Minister designated it a Special National Relic Site.

During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man presented 100 gifts to policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious services to the nation, and children from disadvantaged and ethnic minority families in the locality.
