This activity was held to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025); the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025); the 137th birth anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888 – August 20, 2025); and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the revolutionary administration of Thai Nguyen Province (August 20, 1945 – August 20, 2025).

Featuring more than 200 images, artefacts, and documents, the exhibition is divided into two sections. The “Uncle Ton – The day of return” section introduces the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang, and his immense contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

The “Thai Nguyen – 80 years of construction and development” section provides an overview of the struggles of the army and people of Thai Nguyen in the uprising to overthrow the Japanese fascist puppet administration and establish the revolutionary government; the contributions of the Provincial Party Committee, authorities, and people of Thai Nguyen during the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism; and some of the province’s outstanding achievements over the past 80 years.

According to the Organising Committee, the exhibition aims to promote the tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source”; honour the contributions of President Ton Duc Thang; and inspire generations of Vietnamese people in general, and Thai Nguyen in particular—especially young people—to uphold the patriotic spirit to build and defend the Fatherland in the new era.

The exhibition will run until September 15, 2025.
