This remark was made by Acting President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan on January 12 during at a meeting with the national U23 team, which is currently gathering to prepare for the AFF U23 Championship 2022, with an eye towards the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31).
At the meeting, VFF Acting President Tran Quoc Tuan had reminders and orientations for the national U23 players. Accordingly, on January 9, the VFF annual congress made important resolutions for Vietnamese football in 2022, including concentrating forces for 2022 strategies, towards 2026, when FIFA will increase the number of participating teams from 32 to 48 in the World Cup. Therefore, the upcoming task is to create a sustainable and high-quality successor force for the team.
In addition, the VFF Acting President also asked the coaching staff to make detailed calculations to ensure the health and success of the team at the upcoming AFF U23 Championship while at the same time affirming that VFF would always try to provide the most favourable professional conditions for the players.

On behalf of the coaching staff, head coach Dinh The Nam thanked the VFF for the attention and support in recent times.
Coach Dinh The Nam added that the national U23 team has just added four more players, thereby increasing the number of players focusing and practicing at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre to 27 players.
The team will train until February 12 and then depart for the AFF U23 Championship 2022, which will take place in Cambodia from February 14 to February 26, 2022.
