Nhan Dan People delegation visits China

A delegation from Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper led by its Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh, who is also member of the Vietnamese Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of Vietnam Journalists’ Association, is paying a working visit to China from April 21 to 26 at the invitation of the People's Daily — the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

On April 22, the delegation was received by Li Shulei, who is a Politburo member, Secretary of the CCP Central Committee’s Secretariat, and head of the Publicity Department of the CCP Central Committee.

Speaking at the reception, Li warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the visit of Nhan Dan Newspaper, which helps to foster exchange and cooperation between the two newspapers while contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and bilateral friendship.

The visit also contributes to realising perceptions, especially in the fields of communication, ideology, culture, media, journalism, and theoretical and practical exchange, he added.

He suggested the Party’s newspaper agencies of the two countries to strengthen practical cooperation, expand the exchange of experiences, strengthen popularisation about each other's socio-economic development achievements and friendship, creating a solid social foundation to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields.

For his part, comrade Le Quoc Minh expressed his thanks for Li’s reception and briefed the host on Vietnam's achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years.

He also took the opportunity to introduce general information of Nhan Dan Newspaper as well as the newspaper’s innovations to keep up with socio-economic development and technology trends in an effort to attract the interest of young readers, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends, thus becoming a key multi-media, multi-lingual media agency.

He emphasised that Nhan Dan Newspaper and People's Daily have established a close cooperation relationship, stating that the resumption of the exchange of high-level delegations between the two agencies after interruption due to COVID-19 pandemic, has important significance, opening many opportunities for cooperation and professional exchange between the two newspapers, as well as between the media and press agencies of the two countries in general.

At the talks, the two sides reviewed the cooperation between the two newspaper agencies in recent years, emphasising the role of each newspaper in the development of revolutionary journalism as well as the national construction and development of each country.

They also exchanged experiences in editorial management and how to attract readers in the context of the information technology boom.

Both sides agreed to promote cooperation and exchange and develop the bilateral ties in a more practical and effective manner.

Previously, on April 21, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh and the Nhan Dan Newspaper delegation visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in China and Vietnamese press agencies residing in China.
