The Vietnam-funded high school includes a two-story building with 16 classrooms, a multipurpose building, a two-story administrative building with eight offices, specialised subject classrooms, a library, dormitories, and a cafeteria.
The school was put into operation in June last year after nearly four years of construction.
Addressing the ceremony, Khampheng Saysompheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Houaphanh Province, emphasised the time-honoured solidarity between Vietnam and Laos as well as the two localities, acknowledging Hoa Binh's consistent support towards Houaphanh's socio-economic development over the past years.
For his part, Bui Duc Hinh, Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee, described the project as a meaningful gift from the Vietnamese Government and people to their Lao counterparts. As the project's primary supervisor, Hoa Binh Province successfully collaborated with Houaphanh to complete the construction on schedule while meeting high technical and aesthetic standards.
He expressed his hope that the new facility will help to better the learning conditions for students as well as the teaching and management capabilities of the school, thus contributing to education quality improvement and human resources training in Huameuang District.
